No Winter Lasts Forever

No Winter Lasts Forever, Oil on Linen 14"x11"
'No winter lasts forever' (14"x11" Oil on linen) is my latest painting in the series of florals and still life paintings done this Spring. It has a long title for a small painting as I do like how Harold Borland, American author and naturalist puts it -- 'No Winter lasts forever, no Spring skips its turn'. The title also reminds me of John Donne's sonnet, 'Death be not proud'. In this painting I see the prolonged winter of COVID-19 as the arrogant and vain white mask turning into its own reflection even as it melts and mingles in the earth below while the daffodils reach for light and life. Wishing you many happy seasons ahead! Stay safe and happy.
