This little alley in Sidi Bou Said gets next to no direct light. Perhaps that's the reason why it hasn't been painted as often as the Blue doors and lanes in Sidi Bou Said. As I stood in front of this alley munching on my Bambalouni, a treat from my artist friend painting with me that day, I thought it will make for a low key dingy painting. It surprised me with the little bits of vivacious life within. I have avoided painting the blue doors in Tunis so far as no matter where you look there are paintings of them. I was happy to get a subtle hint of blue door on the right.
